Renunciation

In Zen, renunciation, can be viewed as a practice of abstaining from harmful behaviors.

What's harmful for me may not be harmful for you. I believe it's important to be honest with myself and identify my portfolio of harmful behaviors.

Too often I abstain from harmful behaviors as I push them away. I'll create an entire narrative with an objective to be aggressive towards it. It's fun to add a sound track, vocals, choreography, special effects and animation. "I'm the victim here!"

Today's wisdom showed up like morning dew: just let go of harmful behaviors.

It's not simple, I know, even a bit cliché, but for today, I've found an idea that elevates my climb.

Unhook grasping fingers, one at a time, until I'm free.

P.S.
ALSO: Let go of people who are spiritually sick and causing harm, especially subtle emotional harm.
